2012 Financial Goals April Update

April’s very, very late monthly update (after March’s update never got posted at all).  We’ve had a couple of months of ups and downs with our financial stuff, nothing major but the busy days have been a serious distraction.  We have made progress and have now paid off 68% of our debt!

Here are the rest of the 2012 updates –

Our 2012 Goals

We still haven’t been able to fully bump up the snowball to 5% of our debt every month but we did apply extra money from consignment and overtime to our debt.

Not much change on this one.  We are continuing to have a small but consistent amount deducted from hubby’s check.

  • Tithe Each and Every Week

We haven’t missed a week yet and I absolutely think things are going smoother in our finances because we’ve been obedient in this area.

  • Start and Finish Financial Peace University at Home

*crickets*   We haven’t even looked at the FPU box since February.  This is one of the drawbacks of doing FPU at home.  If you get too busy there is no accountability to keep you from missing class week after week after week after….

  • Rebuild & Maintain our Emergency Fund

Still maintaining the emergency fund.

  • Dust off the Budget & Start using it Again

We have an on & off relationship with our budget.  I’m still not great at working with the budget on the lean weeks.  I’ve also realized that I’m not great with the budgets during good weeks either.  Or busy weeks either for that matter.  As always it is a work in progress.

So that is where we were at the end of April.  We’ve made progress and we are working hard to reach our final goal.
