For years we’ve accumulated lots and lots of stuff. Nothing major, nothing fancy – just stuff. When hubby and I got married those that love us showered us with stuff. We needed stuff to set up our home and we were very blessed. When we had Lilo, we were showered with stuff. With each little one after that we were showered with stuff. For a few years I bought lots and lots of stuff and I mistakenly thought a high credit limit meant that we could afford it. We could for a while but slowly realized that we were cashing in our dreams for stuff.
We still have a lot of stuff (saying it is a lot of stuff may still be the understatement of the year) and we work through getting rid of it very slowly. I am hoping to pick up the progress of getting rid of some of the stuff before we get more for Christmas. We went to 3 gifts for the kids several years ago and we all really like it better but we’ve not managed to convince the grandparents yet.
So I’ll spend the next 4 weeks working on getting rid of the excess stuff in this house. I blog for accountability so on Fridays I’ll have bag update and then I’ll drop of the last week’s bags at the thrift store on Mondays. I’d like to get rid of 20 bags of stuff in the next 4 weeks. 20 kitchen sized trash bags of stuff.
